Suite* is a collaboration between La Caja and LEA, two spaces committed to contemporary creation that come together to promote groundbreaking site-specific projects. These projects are carried out by selected LEA artists and exhibited in a very unique space within La Caja, located on Fernando VI Street.
Ana María Poveda's work originates from the superimposition of IRL (real life) images versus URL (virtual resources), emphasizing the use of assets found on PNG websites that highlight the artificiality of a virtualized reality. A world where anything is possible, yet everything is subject to distortion and mutation. In this installation, there is something that does not fit: a space, a simulation, actions, remnants of what could have been, an axe cutting cardboard—everything contained is PNG… This piece seeks to poeticize a space that simply does not "fit," a space that exists in the middle of a whole, playing an ambiguous role: a space that was imagined as a storage room, an elevator, or countless other things that never managed to take root there. As if playing The Sims, ideas were projected and then dismantled, leaving this hollow space in the midst of everything. Thus, a cardboard axe cuts (metaphorically) the space that contains it from within, and it will continue to cut virtually into infinity. In this way, the work projects the notion of not fitting.
